When we live according to our deepest values, everything just seems to come together. When I begin work with a new client, I often like to talk about what their values are –what is important to them, what’s not-negotiable and what gets them fired up!
Without a connection to what our values are, it is nearly impossible to find our way. So many of us get pulled in many different directions – because of all the voices – from society, our families, our jobs, our friends etc. They are all well meaning of course, (well most of them) but the outside influences and opinions distract us from our true calling and true nature in life. We are each the expert on ourselves, and clarifying our values helps to remind us of that.
Getting clear on what your values are helps you to let go and follow the path that forms in front of you. Personally and professionally, I’ve been experiencing the power of letting go and trusting the process. As someone who has typically liked to work hard and follow the rules, it is amazing how much more rewarding this way is and how much better it works than muscling it out!
Once you define your values, you can let go knowing that you will follow the path you need to follow. It’s really as simple as that.
What are your most important values? Once you’ve decided, Make a Wordle and place it on your fridge or in your office. It’s fun, pretty and it just may help you to stay on track!
